20ft New Containers FOR SALE OR HIRE
New 20ft shipping containers are manufactured overseas, most commonly in China, before being loaded with cargo for their first and only international voyage. During this journey, they are transported around the world by sea, with cargo loaded and unloaded at various destinations. Once the container arrives in the UK, it is emptied and released into the domestic market. These containers are commonly referred to as ‘one-way’ or ‘once shipped’ containers. We also supply used 20ft containers.
20ft (6 metre) containers are our most popular size, offering approximately the same storage capacity as a single garage, making them ideal for a wide range of storage and shipping applications. Available throughout the UK, these robust steel containers provide a secure, weatherproof storage solution. We also offer new 20ft high cube containers, which provide an additional foot of internal height for larger or taller items. Most new containers also come fitted with a lockbox as standard, providing added security for your contents.
What Colours Are New 20ft Containers Available In?
New 20ft containers are typically available in a choice of colours, with the most popular being green (RAL6007) and blue (RAL5013), although other colours may be available depending on stock.
JJJU PREFIX CONTAINERS
We even have our very own fleet of 20ft new shipping containers, 100s of them arrived into the country via Felixstowe Port in 2025, and plenty more are still arriving; making their way to our various depots. So, if you see a blue or green 20ft new container on the motorway check the number, if it begins with JJJU (see below) then give it a little wave, as the manufacture was commissioned by 3J Services Ltd. Special 20ft new containers
A wide variety of ‘special’ 20ft new containers can also be provided such as those in the list below. It is worth noting that specialist equipment can be considerably more expensive than standard equipment, so it is always worth obtaining a comparison cost for standard equipment if you can make a normal 20ft new container work for your application.
20ft New High Cube Containers
These units have an extra 1ft in height, therefore, as oppose to the usual 8ft 6ins external height of a standard shipping container, these units are 9ft 6ins externally.
20ft New Side Loading Containers
These have a full concertina doors to one 20ft side and to one 8ft end, they make loading large or awkward equipment very simple.
20ft New Dual Side Loading Containers
These units have concertina doors to both 20ft sides and to one 8ft end, ideal base units for a conversion project, or for loading awkward equipment.
20ft New Double Door or 20ft Tunnel Containers
These have double cargo doors to both 8ft ends of the container, this makes loading and unloading the container very straight-forward as a forklift can unload/load from both ends without having to remove all of the equipment to get to the front of the container.
20ft New High Cube Double Door or 20ft Tunnel Containers
These units have doors at both 8ft ends, however, they also provide an extra 1ft in height providing an external height dimension of 9ft 6ins.
20ft New Open Top Containers
Designed for extra large pieces of cargo that was simply too high or awkward for a standard container, these units do not have a roof, instead they are covered by a tarpaulin.
